This week in Science we observed and made some notes of the things we notice and wonder in our habitat. Also we made notes of some Fruit flies that we saw.In my habitat i noticed that have a lot of flies and i wonder how the flies get there. In the fruit flies jar i noticed the different stages of the fruit flies but i didn't saw the egg.I only saw the larva, pupa, and the adult. The next day we solve a problem making our own hypothesis. We need to find how many fruit flies would be after 3 weeks if we put 3 fruit flies in a jar.My hypothesis was that after 3 weeks would be 180 fruit flies.
This week in Science i learned a lot about fruit flies. The 3 stages of life in drosophila melanogaster(Fruit flies) that are:egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Also i leraned that to make babies the fruit flies takes 16 days.In one day they have 20 eggs.I also learned that the females fruit flies are more bigger than the males fruit flies.

Post 7: This Week in Science (Ecosystems)
This week in Science we design our habitat. After that we prepared our tank to go to the community garden. In the community garden we collected things that we can use for our tank.We found worms, leaves, and little rocks and put in the tank. Then we observed at other tanks to create questions about the tanks. The next day we correct our test of the ecosystem to make connection to our habitat. The last day we research information of one of the organism of our habitat. And we start design our map of the habitat.
This week in Science i learned about leaves by research information about it.Leaves eats water and oxygen and get it energy from the sunlight.Herbivore animals eats the leaves. The leaves are a producer because it produce its own food.In the trophic level, leaves are the first level. And their environment is tropical.
I'm still unsure about how the animals in my tank died. And how other animals in the ecosystems and other tanks still alive.I also unsure of how the spider is going to survive in the close tank.I'm curious of what spiders eats. And i want to know from where the spiders gets their energy.

Post 6: This Week in Science (Spider Habitat Design)
This week in science the first day we search information about the spider Pholcidae that is the spider that we are going to use to create the habitat. We design in our notebook ideas we have to create the habitat. The next day we shared our ideas we our group to create the design of the habitat. We started design our habitat.A side view and a top view. And the last day we play a game to understand the Carbon-Oxygen Cycle.
This week in science i learned about our new project of design our own habitat for a spider.I learned what is in a spider habitat. What they need to survive like food and etc. Also i learned the cycle of carbon and oxygen playing a game.Carbon and oxygen are exchanged in the biosphere in a dynamic cycle:reservoirs and processes.

This Week in Science (Carrying Capacity and Relationships)
This week in science we discussed the words : Limiting factors and Carrying capacity. We did this in order to understand the definitions of each word to play the game.We played in game call "Oh Deer" in order to learn how the limiting factors affect the carrying capacity. After we play the game we did a graphic to represent the data of the game. The next day we watch videos to defined in own our words the definitions of the words : Predator/Prey , Mutualism , Commensalism , and Parasitism. Then we organized some cards to see how organisms interact in their environment.
This week in science i learned how the availability of resources affects the population in an ecosystem.I also learned the definitions of Limiting factors : the avariable energy , water , oxygen , and minerals , and the ability of ecosystem to recycle the remains of dead organisms. Also i learned how organisms interact in their environment.I learned the relationships of organisms.Predator/Prey : The predator eats the prey ; Mutualism : Were both protect each other ; Commensalism : One animal benefits from the other and the other don't get benefits , and Parasitism : They(parasite) benefits from a person(host),but the person get something negative.

This Week in Science: Energy Transfer
This week in science i did a food chain of the habitat of the Panda i created.I have to do a food chain of all the things that are in my habitat. In my food chain i the sun, bamboo, the Panda and a tiger .Then i did a energy pyramid of the food chain. In the energy pyramid i put the same animals but with different levels of energy.
This week i learned to identify the roles that organisms play in a food chain.I learned the definition of producer(Make its own food),consumer(Eats another organism),primary consumer(Gets its energy from producers),secondary consumer(Gets its energy from primary consumers) and tertiary consumer(Gets its energy from secondary consumers). Also i learned how energy transfers from organism to organism in a food chain.I learned the definition of some others words like autotroph(Producer),heterotroph(Consumer),herbivore(Primary consumer) and carnivore(Secondary or tertiary consumers).

My Fantasy Habitat
This week in Science class i pick an animal and draw it in my notebook.Second i research information about Panda's biome.I search abiotic and biotic things that are in the the Rain forest. The next day i illustrate my own habitat of the Panda. In my illustration i have to shows my animal and 5 abiotic and biotic things that are in the Rain forest.
This week i learned what are the definitions of abiotic and biotic.Abiotic is non-living things and biotic is living things.I also learned that the Panda have 6 fingers on each hand.I also learned that the Pandas live in the Rain forest. The climate they live is windy and sunny. Not clod or not how somewhere middle. The Pandas like to be alone most of the time.

This Week in Science
This week the first thing i did was set up my blog and created my first post. The second day we customize our blog.In my notebook i write things i know about frogs and blogs. The third day,was the dissection day.We dissected the frogs and complete questions in our notebook.Next day we finish the dissection.Day fifth i upload my first half of my Annotated Photo Journal Entry with the pictures i took during the dissection. And the sixth day we finish our Annotated Photo Journal Entry.
I learned that frogs have similar organs like us inside. They have a heart, lungs, liver, intestines, stomach, pancreas, and spleen. There are other two organs but we did not find them.I learned how know if the frog is female or male.In the beginning we though our frog were a male because it have fat toes and we named it "Skipper",but in the end we find out that was a fa,ale because had eggs inside but we keep the name "Skipper".

This picture shows our frog "Skipper" before we dissected it.I chose this picture because i want people see how our frog looked before the dissection. |

This picture shows how we were cutting the skin of "Skipper".I chose this picture because is a good example of how hold the skin to cut it. |

This picture shows "Skipper" after we take out the stomach.I chose this picture because people could see how a frog look after take out the stomach. |
